Once in Tarabethian style, I wandered on a fall walk through the woods with a couple of friends. We came upon an old pre-civil war dated log cabin. An amish family lived there. And just like the bravest of Goldilocks, we knocked on the door and asked to use their restroom. They were kind folk and gave us the history of their cabin saying it had been a tavern used as a hospital in the civil war. Well, after the tour they asked if they could walk a ways with us in the wood! We set off and a little ways we came to a huge ravine. Then ravine was probably a few hundred feet deep and was covered in crisp fall leaves. Our new friends led us to a tree where they had the most interesting swing attached. After demonstrating the way it waorked they offered to let us try. Now, the sun had set and it was dark in those woods, but just like Robin Hood I jumped on the swing and swang out over the ravine with nothing but pitch black beneath my feet! Tarzan had nothing on me! What a rush! Well, it was time to head back to our car and the real world. I have since lost contact with my friends and they say that log cabin burned. A new road has now bypassed that stretch of wood. All that is left are my memories and a tale by the locals of....... a civil war ghost that crosses the road once and again!True story!!!!!!!!!!!!!
